Akitsu Kida (Japan)
Akitsu
Kida graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Tokyo University in 1999. In
the same year, she passed the Bar Exam and was admitted to the Judicial
Research and Training Center established by the Supreme Court of Japan. After
completing the program, she was admitted to the Japan Federation of Bar
Associations (JFBA) in 2000. As a lawyer she has been involved in several human
rights issues, with particular focus on the rights of children. She has been an
active member of the International Committee on Human Rights of the JFBA and
the Committee of the Children's Human Rights and Juvenile Law of the Tokyo Bar
Associations. She contributed to the Second World Congress on the Commercial
Sexual Exploitation of Children as a member of the working team formed by JFBA.
She also represented JFBA at the 12th session of the Commission on Crime
Prevention and Criminal Justice, United Nations, the theme of which was
'Trafficking in human beings, especially women and children'. She is a Senior
Fellow affiliated with the Global Public Service Law Project. |
