Michael
Wilkinson is a European Union Fulbright Scholar at NYU and Columbia University
for the academic year 2004-2005. From January 2005, he will serve as an Emile
Noel Fellow at NYU.
Michael
is about to complete his PhD thesis at the European University Institute,
Florence, on 'The Idea of Postnational Constitutionalism'. During his time as a
researcher he has spent a semester as a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University
and has published on a range of topics around issues of European
Constitutionalism including articles in the European Law Journal and the Oxford
Journal of Legal Studies. His academic interests are broadly in legal theory,
constitutional theory and law of the European Union, his thesis focusing in
particular on the works of Hans Kelsen, Hannah Arendt and Jurgen Habermas. As a
fellow at NYU he will be continuing his work on postnationalism, looking in
particular at the changing structures of social organisation in relation to our
perceptions of time and space. |
