ATLAS provides annual programming organized around the following principles:
- Cosmopolitanism in the selection of topics, teaching methodologies and issue engagement with relevance to a diverse transnational community of doctoral students;
- Attentiveness to the permeability of different fields of law – as well as whole legal systems – to ideas, normative influences and structural forces that may previously have been thought of as marginal or largely external to those field of systems;
- The importance of critical inquiry and interdisciplinary perspectives on the nature of law, its content and the role of law in different forms and spheres of regulation;
- Contribution to scholarship by assisting in the intellectual formation of talented doctoral students.
